Farm Wide Update: Reflecting on 2023 and What's in Store for 2024! 🌱

Hey there, Hillsiders! As we embark on a new year, we wanted to take a moment to look back at all the fun we've had in 2023. It was a big year, that saw a lot of ups and some downs, but overall we’re so happy with how far Hillside has come and look forward to what’s ahead for 2024.

A Look Back at 2023 👀

What a ride it has been! We secured a spot at Carriageworks Farmers Market, a milestone that we didn’t know was possible, and are incredibly proud to be a part of. Our farm has begun to flourish, thanks to the increased number of pig breeders, refined chicken production, and a growing beef herd. We greatly improved our farm infrastructure to help set us up for success. One of the most significant steps was Liz transitioning into a full-time farmer, allowing us to expand into the retail market space. And let's not forget the game-changer—the mobile coolroom allowing us to do more consistent deliveries.


Major Milestone Alert 🎉 Chicken at Carriageworks Farmers Market

In our last newsletter, we mentioned we’d joined Carriageworks Farmers Market in Sydney. The end of the year closed out with a bang at the annual Christmas Market, which was a fun-filled albeit exhausting day. After a short break, we’re back at it for our regular fortnightly stall this Saturday 27th January from 8am - 1pm.

At our first market back we’re excited to announce that we’ll be bringing our pasture raised whole chickens. This is our first major goal ticked for the year, with many more to come. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials as we tease new and exciting ventures in the coming weeks and months.


Kicking Business Goals 👩🏻‍🌾👨🏻‍🌾

This year, we’ve got big plans to expand Hillside Food Forest. From expanding our product range to taking on new ventures, we’re ramping up the business. Stay tuned for what’s in store for us, as we work hard to bring you ethical and delicious products.


🐓 🐓 First Batch of Chickens for 2024 🐓 🐓

Our first batch of whole chickens for 2024 is now available! These birds are great looking specimens (our best yet) and not to mention on the larger side. Did we also mention succulent? And tender.. Need we say more? Come find us at Carriageworks or place your orders online before they’re sold out. Deliveries will be made every 2 weeks.


New Pork and Mince Boxes 🥩 🥓 🍖

To make our pork even more accessible, we’ve released a brand new 5kg pork box. This is a great taster for pasture raised pork, without the commitment to a massive amount of freezer space.

Our new pork box includes a diverse selection of our high-quality, pasture-raised pork cuts. Take a look in our farm store for more details or reach out to us via email with any questions.

But that's not all—we’ve also put together the Pork Mince Box, offering the perfect mince for your culinary creations, available in 3kg, 4kg, and 5kg options.
